Otter Creek Excavation Project - Invasive Cattails - Restoring Fish Habitat

Excavation work was recently completed in the Otter Creek area across from R.C. Congel on RT 12 here in Alexandria Bay. This was done to remove hybrid cattails which over time have blocked the
spawning habitat access for native fish. Anyway, I took some aerial video of the area yesterday. You can see quite a difference, there are a lot of open areas of water back there now which will hopefully allow the various fish to do their thing. (Note: There is no sound in the video)

UPDATE: I just found out that there will be a seminar about all of this at the Nature Center on June 9th.. see the facebook event below..
