Cost is $35.00 per course. Youth ages 10 – 18 need this course to operate a boat without adult supervision, and everyone needs this course to operate a personal watercraft (jet ski) from ages 14 and up. . There is also a new law in New York State that anyone born on or after May 1, 1996 must take a Boating Safety Course to operate any motorized vessel. This boating course can also be applied towards an insurance reduction on your boat or pwc. Without this course anyone could be subject to a $100.00 for operating a pwc without the certificate.
