Free Boating Safety Course March 18-21st


There will be a Free New York State Boating Safety Course being offered starting from Monday March 18, 19, 20, 21st at Alexandria Central School from 3 – 5 pm. You can sign up by calling 486-5230 or at the Main Office of the School.
Other Boating Safety Courses will be held April 13th at the Clayton Boat Show from 9 am – 5:30 pm, April 16-17th at the Alex Bay Village Hall from 5:30 – 9:30 pm. May 6 – 7th at the Antique Boat Museum Clayton from 5 pm – 9 pm; June 3-4th at the Antique Boat Museum from 5 – 9 pm; June 22nd Antique Boat Museum from 9 am – 5:30 pm . July 1 – 2nd at the Alex Bay Village Hall from 5:30 – 9:30 pm; July 14th from 8am – 4 pm at the Nature Center; July 16 -17th at the Antique Boat Museum from 5 – 9 pm; August 9th at Grindstone Island 10 am – 6:30 pm; August 10th at the Antique Boat Museum from 9 am – 5:30 pm; August 17th at the Minna Anthony Nature Center from 8 am – 4 pm; and finally August 20-21st at the Antique Boat Museum from 5 pm – 9 pm. The cost is $ 35.00 to take the course. Youth ages 10 – 18 need this course to operate a boat without adult supervision, and everyone needs this course to operate a personal watercraft (jet ski) from ages 14 and up. at . This boating course can also be applied towards an insurance reduction on your boat or pwc. Without this course anyone could be subject to a $100.00 for operating a pwc without the certificate.
