"Alexandria Bay has 4 of its own going to states. The Jefferson Jaguars Travel Pee Wee hockey team 12U team has had an amazing season with a record of 46-4-5 in US competition. Alexandria Bay has 4 boys on the team that started their Hockey journey with the River Rats as Mites Owen Bearup, Gage Goerger, Landon McCauley and Tyler Wynne. These boys started Skating together on the mite level and as Squirts for the River rats in 2008 they went to win the Pepsi Invitation in Buffalo NY going Undefeated to finish that season. Now 5 years later they are Part of a bigger dream A NY State Championship In Buffalo. The Jaguars have won first place 5 times this season in tournaments 2nd twice and 3rd once. Undefeated in Pre sectionals they moved on to go Undefeated in Sectional s against 3 teams in the top 100 in the US. They now move on to play in States in Amherst NY this weekend the 8,9 and 10th of March against the Niagara Junior Purple Eagles, Brooklyn Aviators and Binghamton Senators. If the Jags can make the Cross over and play on Sunday then they could possibly be on their way to that STATE championship they have been working so hard for. Not only have they been able to play some amazing hockey the Jags have also been able to experience somethings that not many twelve year olds get to do. They have played Teams from the Michigan Ontario Border in the International Silver Sticks Finals as well as a team from Denver CO. The excitement did not stop there however, the weekend between Pre Sectionals and Sectionals the Jags got the opportunity to play against the Artic 2000 from Russia in Montreal. The Jaguars enter the weekend as the number 1 seed in their bracket and 42nd in the US 2000 Tier 2 Rankings. The Team is coached by Jerry and Jeff Rose, Mike Goerger, George Stepan, Jeff Bannister and Jeff Zehr. Other Players on the team are Tommy Bannister, Hayden Hunter, Squirrel Zehr, Matthew Briggs, Kealey Rose, Danny Harvill, Stefan Lucidi, Hunter Barton, Johnny “Rocket” Monnett, George Stepan (G5) and Hannah Rose."
