UPDATE 5:30 PM Feb 1, 2013...they now have him in custody..




UPDATE 11:30 AM THURSDAY January 31, 2013 - I don't think they caught the guy. I don't think he is in Alex Bay anymore though. He may have ran towards the golf course and got help out of the village.. possibly from his family in Hammond.. Really though until someone tells me something or I hear something I don't know, but if I find out I will post it here.

For the last 5 hours I've been going around town watching a Manhunt go down in Alexandria Bay. I've been watching police vehicles, listening to the scanner, talking to people on facebook, and talking to people in person around the village..

I feel it is my responsibility to tell everyone what is going on.



THIS IS NOT OFFICIAL INFORMATION BY ANY MEANS.. BUT I'M CONFIDENT IT'S VERY CLOSE TO WHAT WENT DOWN.. I'M ALSO QUITE SURE THAT NO ONE OFFICIAL IS GOING TO COMMENT ON THIS RIGHT NOW..

So here goes..

Around 7:30 PM about 6 different law enforcement vehicles show up in the Bay..
They end up in the reformed church parking lot..

A guy and his girl are apparently at the food pantry getting some food for their familly.. the guy decides to steal someone's cell phone who works at the pantry. They call the phone, it starts ringing in the guys pocket, he denies having it. An argument take place.. the cops get called under a domestic dispute scenario..

The guy runs off.. they eventually track him down at his house near Catherine/Cornwall across from the rink, handcuff him.. and stick him in a Clayton PD vehicle.. then... while they are in the house talking to his girl and possibly looking for the phone.

HE SOMEHOW ESCAPES !!

So, they end up spending the rest of the night looking for him.. dogs, spotlights, troopers, local police, park police, sheriffs, you name it..

And as of right now (1am) I'm pretty sure they haven't found him yet.

I feel I should also tell you that people are saying that he's dangerous and that he has a history..
So lock your doors and be cautious folks.. He may still be hiding in the village !

The name of the man is apparently "Brad Roberts"..
They say he's tall and skinny..

And I used the word "girl" above because I wasn't sure, but it's probably his wife..
There are kids involved too..
