I just received news that our friend Bryan Tidd is in route at this very moment (9:30 am tues July 10th, 2012) to hopefully get the lung transplant that he's been waiting for.. I was told they are young lungs .. and at this point that is all I know.

Let's wish him luck and give him all our prayers.. I'm sure it's as scary as it is exciting as he travels to get the procedure done.

IMPORTANT UPDATE : I WAS JUST CONTACTED AND ASKED TO ADD THIS.. PLEASE REALIZE A TRANSPLANT TODAY ISN'T SET IN STONE.. SOMETHING COULD GO WRONG REGARDING THE DONAR LUNG AND TIME IT TAKES BRYAN TO GET THERE.. ETC ETC...  HE MIGHT END UP NOT GETTING THE TRANSPLANT TODAY.. BUT THERE IS STILL A GOOD CHANCE IT COULD HAPPEN TODAY.. SO JUST KEEP THAT IN MIND EVERYONE.. I WAS TOLD THEY WILL KEEP US UPDATED..

And directly from Bryan's wife at 12:30 pm..

"If you haven't already heard, we did get the call this morning saying that lungs are possibly available for Bryan. This is an extremely emotional and stressful call bc we will not know if these lungs are actually viable until we are in NYC and Bryan is prepped for surgery. There is a very real possibility that we will... be turned right around upon arrival at the hospital. This is called a 'dry run' and some transplant patients have as many as 5 or 6 of these 'false alarms' before actually receiving lungs. We are hopeful and prepared for the event that this is the real deal but want everyone to also be aware that this is not a definite. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers and I will update the transplant status the second I hear anything"

Another update at 3 pm

"Bryan is arriving at the hospital as I type and just received a call that it's urgent that he get there ASAP. It's looking like this is gonna be a go but I will update as soon as we get the final word. Words cannot express the emotions ... BrYan deserves this second chance more than anything! We are sooo thankful."

And our latest update as of 5pm today .. lungs were not a good match for whatever reason.. no transplant will happen today..

Update From Bryan's Wife at 5pm..

"Well folks. Unfortunately the lungs did not meet the standards of the Tx team. I guess this is a prime example of just how far the process must go before we know the outcome. This does mean that Bry is very high on the list and well most likely be getting another call soon. We're ready and well do this a hundred times if that's what it takes!! Thanks for all the support again."

And for those of you that don't know the situation..

Bryan's ongoing battle with Cystic Fibrosis just got to the point where he really needed a lung transplant to continue on. His lungs had had it and Bryan had to get on the list A.S.A.P. He also couldn't work anymore.. That being said we "his friends" had a few benefits to keep him afloat until this day would come and now all we can do is pray and wait.. Our friend Bryan is tough, he's a fighter, he'll pull through this..

Especially if he keeps humming his theme song..
