Captain has been nominated for Citizen of The Year..

He has my Vote and I want you to vote for him as well. You must go to the Chamber office in person and get an official ballot to vote for him.

PLEASE, IF YOU VISIT abaynews.com THEN PLEASE DO ME A FAVOR AND GO DOWN THERE AND VOTE FOR CAPTAIN. HE REALLY DOES DESERVE IT. JUST TODAY I WATCHED HIM SNOWBLOW DARN NEAR EVERY SIDEWALK IN THE THE DOWNTOWN AREA AND THAT INCLUDES MOST OF CHURCH STREET. HE DOESN'T GET PAID TO DO THAT AS FAR AS I KNOW. HE JUST DOES IT.

In addition I just recieved an email from Vonna K. going over the reasons why Captain deserves the vote.

---------------------------------

Paul Wibbe(Captain) has been nominated for citizen of the year for 2007. In the past it has been the custom for the chamber to take the list and choose one, however this year the person will be chosen by the people.

Paul has always been a great help to people in need. He is the first person in line to volunteer when someone needs a helping hand. Whether it be moving items or helping with heavy equipment, etc. He has also been there for many benefits when someone is ill with a major sickness, or just down on their luck. You can always count on captain to help with setting up, tearing down, bringing food or to help cook the meals. You may also have noticed that the sidewalks down town are always cleared of snow, well that is mostly thanks to Paul Wibbe. He comes down int the worst of weather conditions to snow blow the walks. He has been known to clear drives and walks for people who he knows can't get out there to do it on their own, injured people, ill people, elderly, whom ever it should be. He does all of this for little or no money. He buys the gas, has the blowers maintained etc.

As a proud citizens of Alexandria Bay lets vote someone in who cares about other people and their needs not because its his job but because he's a good person.

Paul we would like to thank you for all that you do.

Please vote Paul Wibbe(captain) for citizen of the year

Thank you

Lets not forget about what Paul and his son Simon did for kids with cancer this past summer.

WIGS FOR KIDS

Recently our Good Friend From the bay known Captain and his son did something pretty darn cool.

You see, Captain talked his 4 year old son Simon Michael George Wibbe into donating his hair to Wigs For Kids. (Click on that to go to their website.)

Wigs For Kids helps kids that have gone through cancer treatments to feel better about themselves by providing them with quality wigs made of human hair.

In this picture Captain is explaining to his son how important this is and how much the donated hair will help a less fortunate child going through cancer treatment to feel better about themselves.

This is a picture of Simon, before the haircut. He has a lot of hair, doesn't he?
You need at least 10 inches of hair to donate and Simon definitely has it.

Getting into the chair. The haircut was done at Marie's Beauty Inn which is on 95 Church Street in Alexandria Bay. 315-483-4928 This haircut was done free of charge.

The hair is gone, oh man, what a difference!

The final result. Simon now has cool spiked hair.

Before & After Comparison.

Congratulations go out to Captain, Simon, Simon's Mom, & Marie's Beauty Parlor. You folks did a wonderful thing to help a child in need.
