Matt Doheny has something to say about the proposed $5.50 tax on Canadian visitors and I would have to agree with him.

"Earlier this year, the north country sent a clear message to President Obama that his proposed $5.50 tax on Canadian visitors would hurt tourism, one of our biggest economic drivers. Now it appears Congress has ignored that message. I’ve learned that the anti-growth Customs inspection fee – which would apply to our Canadian visitors coming by air or water – was tucked into the free trade agreement with Colombia.I support expanding our free trade alliances. I also care deeply about our growing annual deficits. But this fee is short-sighted. It will hurt our local businesses at the very time we need to promote growth, which will lead to employment and jobs in the north country."
