    There will be four Free New York State Snowmobile Courses offered in 2011.  The first course will be held at Hammond Central School on Tuesday and Wednesday October 18 and 19th starting at 6 pm, call 324-5931 to sign up.  Alexandria Central School will be offering the same NYS Snowmobile Course on Tuesday and Wednesday November 1st and 2nd at 3:30 pm, you can sign up in the Main Office or call 482-9971.  November 15th and 16th there will be another Snowmobile Course offered at the Copley House in Chaumont and February 14th and 15th at the Copley House also at 6 pm, call 486-5230 to register.  This course is required for ages 10 – 18 to operate a snowmobile off from ones own private property.  It is not required for adults, but may be used as an adult towards an insurance discount.   The two courses offered at the Copley House are sponsored by the Thousand Islands Snowmobile Club, and Gary Kocher will be the instructor for all four courses.
