1st off.. please realize that the comments below are from me.. they do not represent the views of Abay Circus who recorded the audio of the meeting..

Anyway, here is the rundown..

Kay Doheny tells the board that she wants to go around with a petition to stop the project..

Ron Thomson explains why he believes in the project around the 8:00 mark..

Personally I believe in the project as well and I 100% agree with Ronny. It's an investment in the future of this village. It's important for our tourism industry and we should not give up on it. That area of the village is the key to drawing people to Alexandria Bay. If we have a chance to improve it we damn well should. We have ignored this village for too long. We need to evolve, we need to improve. The hospital is also willing to work with us and that's a big plus. Keep the right people involved in the project and the funding and the cost to the taxpayers can be minimized. People around here need to stop saying we can't and start saying we can ! Doing nothing and using the current economic status as an excuse is not the way to improve things around here.

I for one WILL NOT be signing a pettiton against it. No way !!
I highly suggest none of you do either should it come to that..

I also have this to say.. which is a bit of side topic so I am putting it down here..

In my opinion that riverwalk needs an area where large boats can dock.. and like Clayton we should be inviting and encouraging various vessels to dock there for a week or so.. like tall ships and navel vessles etc etc.. then people will come to the village to see these vessels... I also think on a larger scale that we need to be able to accomodate some of the large great lake touring ships... who could then dock here for a certain amount of time while their many 100's of passengers tour and spend spend money in the village.. WE NEED TO USE THE RIVER TO GET PEOPLE HERE.. IT IS THE MOST POWERFUL TOOL WE HAVE AND PEOPLE SEEM TO FORGET THAT !! RIGHT NOW WHEN SHIPS LIKE THAT LOOK TO DOCK IN ALEXANDRIA BAY WE TELL THEM WE DON'T WANT THEM AND THAT IS RIDICULOUS !!
