For today's snowshoeing workout I decided to check out the Back 9 walking trail at the golf course.. my main goal was to burn at least 1000 calories which was easily accomplished..

1146 calories in 55 minutes.. 1.98 miles.. Max Speed 6.16 mph ..Average Speed 2.15mph.. average BPM 171 (Heart Rate monitored by Zephyr HxM bluetooth chest strap)

It's kinda rough back there plus I mistakenly wandered off on a four wheel trail (eastern circular path on map) .. there are no signs or anything and I wasn't looking at the gps.. I basically just walked in, followed what looked like trails, and then tried to get back out a different way.. I definetly went through a good bit of terrain that wasn't part of any trail but hey, it's all good.. this isn't supposed to be easy.. Anyway, halfway through the workout I stopped for a minute or two to drink some water and eat part of a granola bar.. It was just what I needed to recharge a little and start working my way back.. To be honest I was getting pretty tired before my little break.. When I got back near the club house I did a little snowshoe sprint where I hit 6 mph or so.. hey, I was feeling good again at that point so why not..

I should add that all my outdoor workouts are broadcast live to my friends on facebook. It shows me moving on the map was well as my current speed. People that have watched it say it works pretty well. It also might come in handy for some of my enemies that wish me dead. :)
